LEAD Device Process in Computer Labs
NEW STUDENTS
- Each lab manager will have 5 - 10 devices STRICTLY for new students These devices are tracked in a shared spreadsheet
- The device and charger are to stay together and tracked via the shared spreadsheet. The devices have hard cases on them this year and do not have bags.
- These devices are NOT to be used for any other purpose and are to remain in the lab
- The lab manager will issue the new student a device through Skyward
- Look up the student -Custom Forms - Personal Technology Handbook
- Make sure this has been signed and dated.
- If it hasn’t been, do not give the device and let the office know.
- If it has been signed, go to Custom Forms - LEAD Device Information
- Enter the Asset Tag of the device (can be copied and pasted from shared spreadsheet)
- Enter the Serial Number of the charger (can be copied and pasted from shared spreadsheet)
- The lab manager will update the shared spreadsheet with the student name AND student ID to indicate it has been checked out
- Be sure to put the date you enter the information in the Entered into Skyward column.
- The lab manager will submit a ticket if additional new student devices are required.
EXITING STUDENTS
- Exiting students are required to return their device, charger and case or pay the full value if they want to keep them
- Contact EdTech if the family wishes to purchase the device and accessories
- Any devices that are collected must be taken to the Lab Manager
- The Lab Manager will enter the following into the shared spreadsheet:
- Student Name
- Student ID
- Device asset tag
- Charger serial number - Do NOT leave this blank. We need to match it to the serial number in Skyward
- Indicate if the case was collected
- Indicate that the device is from a dropped student
- Put ticket number on spreadsheet
- Submit a ticket to EdTech for pickup of the device and accessories.
